Trip Kali Biru (Blue River) Warsambin Teluk Mayalibit

Kali Biru, the Blue River, is a freshwater stream so clear and blue that you can see every stone on its bed. It flows through the forest of Waigeo Island near Warsambin village, at the mouth of Mayalibit Bay. Villagers call it the bathing place of the King of Waigeo, and they still look after it with respect.

This trip is run directly by the DAMPIER team. We pick you up at Waisai harbour and drive about an hour to Warsambin. A local guide from the village then takes you to the river, while the car waits to bring you back to Waisai.

The water is cool and calm, around 1.5 to 3 metres deep and deeper in a few spots. Swim, float, or simply sit on the bank and enjoy the blue under the trees. The spring is sacred to the villagers, so swimming is only allowed in the river, not in the spring.

The price is IDR 200,000 per person, including the Kali Biru entrance fee and a local guide. The return car from Waisai to Warsambin is IDR 850,000 for your group, waiting time included. Staying on Kri, Mansuar, or Friwen? The boat to Waisai is IDR 1,000,000 per boat, and the boat back to the island is IDR 1,000,000 per boat. Add them as extras when you book. The Raja Ampat tourism fee is not included.

Leave in the morning so you are back before dark, as the road to Warsambin has no street lights. Bring swimwear, dry clothes, a towel, non-slip footwear, insect repellent, and a dry bag for your phone.
