About us
DAMPIER is not a resort and not a travel agent. We are a small team in Waisai acting as the go-between for guests and the owners of homestays, dive centres and trips in Raja Ampat. We visit each business, check its promises, and list it at the same price you pay. We also teach local owners how to grow their business.
Our name
The Dampier Strait separates Waigeo and Batanta islands. Its currents gather the marine life that made Raja Ampat famous, such as Cape Kri, the Arborek jetty and Manta Sandy. Our first partner villages sit on this strait, so we borrowed its name.
What we do
We visit every partner, take the photos ourselves, record prices from the owner and check the four points of the Sasi Standard. Those that pass go live with the Verified badge. The rest wait for a visit. Guest requests go to partners on WhatsApp, and if a partner doesn't answer within 2 hours, our team calls.
Where our money comes from
For homestays, the listed price is the partner's price plus IDR 100,000 per person per night. Other services use a fixed rupiah share per pricing unit, for example per person for diving or per boat for island transfers. Of that share, 35% goes to the platform, 55% to field operations, the team that travels between islands checking partners, and 10% to a partner growth fund. That fund is turned into goods such as Starlink Mini, not cash, and reported openly. Partners still receive their own price in full. For resorts, the listed price is the resort's own price, and the resort pays a 10% commission.
Legal standing
DAMPIER operates under PT Selat Dampier Sejahtera, a sole-owner limited company (Perseroan Perorangan) based in Waisai, Raja Ampat. Its establishment was approved by the Minister of Law of the Republic of Indonesia on September 29, 2026 under decree number AHU-A126727.AH.01.30.Tahun 2026. The business is registered in Indonesia's OSS system with Business ID Number (NIB) 3009260075235.
We share practical guidance with homestay, dive center, and trip owners in Raja Ampat, from honest pricing and safety at sea to welcoming international guests. Our articles and educational videos make this guidance available.
We also encourage business owners to build, manage, and develop their own websites and business systems. Through learning and guidance, owners can learn to manage content, bookings, catalogs, and business data. Owners retain access to and control of their digital assets.

What we hold to
Prices, electricity hours, water, signal and internet are written as they are, including the parts that don't read well. A guest who knows in advance isn't disappointed at the jetty.
Homestays, boats and trips stay with their owners. We are the go-between, not the owner. We don't buy, don't lease and don't mark up the owner's price. Guests' money goes straight to the owner.
The Verified badge is given after a visit, lasts 12 months, and is withdrawn if a promise is broken. That is why we guard the badge, not the photos.
