Firdas Homestay

A family homestay in Warahnus Cove, the quietest cove on the south coast of Kri Island, with fine white sand and a reef right under the bungalows. Kri is a small island in the middle of Raja Ampat's most famous dive sites, about 45 minutes by boat from Waisai.

The bungalows

There are eight bungalows, each sleeping two. Five stand over the water with sea-facing terraces, and guests say the nights are cooler there. Over-water guests share a bathroom on land, one room with a Western toilet and one for bucket showers. Three beach bungalows sit on land just back from the beach, each with a private bathroom. All are simple and clean.

Meals, power and signal

Three meals a day are included, cooked in the family kitchen. Guests say the food is simple but tasty and varied. A packed lunch can be prepared for full-day trips. Power runs from sunset until around midnight. There is phone signal, but mobile data is slow.

Things to do

Snorkel straight from your bungalow. Guests say reef sharks are sometimes spotted from the terrace. Cape Kri and Yenbuba Jetty, two well-known dive and snorkel sites, are close by, and dive centre boats can pick you up right at the bungalow.

Getting there

Kri can only be reached by boat, about 45 minutes from Waisai. Ask the DAMPIER team about a boat pickup when you book, and share your fast ferry schedule from Sorong so the boat can be ready.

Good to know

Firdas is run by a friendly local family who speak only a little English. Check-in is from 1 pm and check-out is by 12 noon. Bring enough cash, as there is no ATM on the island. Please take plastic waste back to Waisai.
